What is it?

We believe that Education, and particularly Higher Education, should always be a collaborative process and here at Manchester Metropolitan University, our world is enriched and our achievements made more effective through partnership at every level. We welcome and share academic / practice collaborations to support and enhance our teaching, clinical practice and shared research collaborations. We recognise the value of external relationships with local and national employers, enabling us to ensure our research, education and training is grounded in real life experience. There are many ways to formally recognise our collaborations including via joint appointments, formal placements, partnership agreements, memorandum of understanding and knowledge transfer partnerships.

The University of Salford prioritises industry engagement in all its activities and programmes. We support our practice colleagues through training and CPD, networks, research collaborations, practitioners engaged in our teaching and assessment activities, joint appointments, honorary appointments, knowledge transfer partnerships, collaborative agreements and broad stakeholder engagement.

Informal networks and learning opportunities may not incur costs, support for practice educators is provided. Formal collaborative arrangements need contracts and costing.
