Skills for Care: Think Care Careers

What is it?

Think Care Careers is a website dedicated to promoting careers in adult social care.

People who are exploring their career choices can find out what working in adult social care's like, what different job roles they could do, how they can get started and where they can progress to. There's also lots of real life case studies from people who work in a range of roles and in different organisations.

There's a dedicated section for teachers, careers and employment advisors. They can request leaflets and posters, find workforce intelligence data for their area, download case studies and videos and request an I Care...Ambassador to do a careers talk or activity.

Why do it?

The adult social care sector needs to find enough people to fill an extra half a million jobs by 2030. To do this, the sector needs to break down some of the negative stereotypes about working in care, and Think Care Careers can help.

Educating the professionals who influence people making their career choices can help adult social care employers find more recruits who have the right values and realistic expectations about working in care.
